Many professionals already in the business world who want to enhance their skills and perspectives,those between positions or ever recent retirees who have years of practical knowledge should be allowed to contribute and learn.
Knowledge is knowledge, good contributions are good contributions - regardless of someone's current status.
Society really needs to reevaluate and update their traditional ways of thinking and doing things.
You're not really thinking of society as a whole when you're making your claims. Google is already offering plenty of opportunity to professional developers along side of these offered to students. You're argument is completely destroyed with a simple link to the Androd Developer Challenge
